Future Filmmaker
By Amara Radetsky, Saint Marks School, 5th Grade
ut! Lunchtime everybody!" someone yells, as we run down the stairs to eat some yummy food before we go on to the next scene. This is Future Filmmaker Workshops, the most awesome place for any writer, techie, actor, or anyone who just wants to have fun making a movie. Future Filmmakers is an interesting and exciting way to learn how to make a movie. You start on the first day of camp sitting in a circle playing name games, and writing a storyline for your movie. They make sure everybody's ideas are included, so it truly feels like everyone's movie. The second day is devoted to learning how to use a professional movie-making camera and watching videos that show the different shots you can take. Sometimes it can get sort of silly, like learning what ways you can shoot a scene of two guys fighting with foam swords! Believe me, it's pretty funny. And by the end of the week, you have an awesome movie...written, directed, shot, edited, and starring you and your fellow campers! If you've always wanted to make a movie, and have a great time doing it, try Future Filmmakers Workshops. Just remember, there are no limits!
